German Parts & Restoration, or GPR, was founded in 1991 by Dave Sheppard. At that time, he had already been selling auto parts since the mid 80's under the name Mid-engine Mania. Having restored and modified several Porsche 914's, he started the business selling used parts for that model. His customers were asking for new parts as well, so he expanded to include genuine, OEM and selected aftermarket parts. Wanting to grow the business to other makes, he formed a new company with a more inclusive name: German Parts & Restoration. In the pre-internet era, GPR grew to be one of the largest phone and catalog retailers of European car parts.
Sadly, Dave passed away in 2008 but current owners Brian Boss and Jonathan Reiss are working to continue the GPR tradition. Brian and Jonathan were longtime friends with Dave as well as GPR customers and both own and work on German cars. While they share an appreciation of all European marques, they have a particular fondness for Porsche 914's and early 911's.
Being "car guys" themselves, they know how customers would like to be treated and strive to meet that expectation with personal service, low prices and, above all else, honesty and integrity.
